The accused was identified as Mohammad Abrarul Haque, 35, the imam of Dhamaran Jame Mosque. Quoting locals, officer in-charge of the Tangibari Police Station Shahidul Islam told bdnews24.com that Abrarul violated the girl in his room adjacent to the mosque when she came to take tuition in Arabic from him on Thursday morning. Locals reached the spot and caught Abrarul, the son of Hanif Uddin of Paguli village of Tarakanda upazila in Mymensingh district, when they heard the girl cry. The victim, a student of Dhamaran Government Primary School, was admitted to a local hospital. The locals beat him up with shoes and finally handed over to police.
