Apakah demonstrasi yang berlangsung sekarang ini membusuk kekuasaannya dan apakah SBY mengalami nasib seperti Soeharto? http://www.thejakartaglobe.com/home/fuel-price-protests-spread-across-indonesia/507482 Fuel Price Protests Spread Across Indonesia March 27, 2012 A police officer shoots tear gas at students during their protests against the government's planned fuel price hikes in Palu on Tuesday. (Antara Photo) Tuesday's "massive" protests may have failed to materialize in Jakarta, but across the country a series of smaller — and at times, more violent — protests sparked off as residents gathered in opposition to the government's plan to slash fuel subsidies. Demonstrations in Makassar and Palu turned violent on Tuesday as students clashed with police. In Makassar, students threw stones at police officers, who returned fire with canisters of tear gas, on Jalan APP Tarani. The protestors had earlier looted a nearby restaurant, making off with some beverages, according to metrotvnews.com. In Palu, more than a dozen students were injured in a brawl between protestors and security officers outside the Central Sulawesi Council's office. The students were allegedly trying to break into the office when officers fired tear gas on the crowd. The protestors were taken to two nearby hospitals for treatment. "We want police to be responsible for this incident by paying the medical costs of all injured victims,” Ridwan, one of the students, said. Peaceful protests were reported in Medan, Pekanbaru, Semarang, the East Java towns of Malang and Bangkalan, Banjarmasin, Mataram and Jayapura. Most of the protests were led by student organizations and labor unions, although hundreds of Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) members also took to the streets, in spite of party chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri’s request to avoid the protests.
