Menurut Encyclopaedia Britannica and Encyclopaedia Islamia, Arab tidak mencatatkan mengenai sejarah mereka sebelum jaman Islam. Anehnya, mereka bahkan menyebut jaman itu sebagai jaman Jahiliyah yang penuh nista dan kegelapan. Mungkin tiada satu pun negara di dunia yang terang2an menghapus sejarahnya sendiri selama 2.500 tahun seperti Arab. Dimana secara sistematis menghancurkan segala yang berhubungan dengan masa lalu. Hal ini dilakukan karena mereka malu atas identitasnya sebagai bangsa budak.
