Well, I wait around the train station Waitin' for that train Waitin' for the train, yeah Take me home, yeah >From this lonesome place Well, now a while lotta people put me down a lotta changes My girl had called me a disgrace Dig The tears burnin' Tears burnin' me Tears burnin' me Way down in my heart Well, you know it's too bad, little girl, it's too bad Recording backgroundThe earliest recording of the song is an acoustic version from 1967 which appeared in 1973 on Sound Track Recordings from the Film Jimi Hendrix which was the companion album to a documentary film. Two versions of the song dating from December 1967 also appear on the 1998 BBC Sessions compact disc. During 1969 and 1970, Hendrix performed the song several times, including at Woodstock and at the Fillmore East with the Band of Gypsys. These versions, respectively, appear on Live at Woodstock and Live at the Fillmore East. The earliest official release of the song was the version recorded at Woodstock, listed as "Get My Heart Back Together", on the Woodstock 2 concert album issued in July 1971. Four months later, a live version recorded on May 30, 1970, at the Berkeley Community Theater was included on the Hendrix's second posthumously-released album Rainbow Bridge. The 1967 acoustic version and live version recorded in Berkeley were both included on the 1994 compilation Blues. Hendrix has recorded several studio versions of "Hear My Train A Comin'", and three have been officially released. The first appeared in 1975 on the Midnight Lightning album which included some posthumous bass and guitar overdubs, orchestrated by producer Alan Douglas, by musicians who had never recorded with Hendrix. The second is a rehearsal recording from February 1969 that was included on the The Jimi Hendrix Experience box set from 2000. The third is a studio recording from April 1969, which was included on the album Valleys of Neptune. There is also going to be another studio version released on the upcoming album People, Hell and Angels which features the Band of Gypsys.
