Mang Deden boleh saja mengatakan bahwa anti Jews adalah kesalahan 
tapi kalau kita baca di majalah Sabili dan dan komentar sebagian 
tokoh Islam, terasa sekali anti yahudinya. Inul saja dihubung-
hubungkan dengan yahudi. Dhani Ahmad yang Muslim juga dikorek-korek 
keturunan Yahudinya (entah benar atau nggak). Kalau yang 
dipersoalkan negara Israelnya sih saya maklum tapi apa-apa yang 
dianggap jahat kok selalu dilabeli Yahudi.

Anti Islam bukan skenario Mang. Ini karena mereka melihat dan 
merasakannya sendiri. Memang banyak sih umat Islam yang nggak 
beringas tapi adalah fakta juga bahwa demo anti karikatur di 
Pakistan, Nigeria, dan (sayangnya) Indonesia berakhir dengan 
keberingasan. Belum lagi keberingasan yang lain.

Orang Barat itu nggak kaya kita di Indonesia yang selalu ngomongin 
agama Mang. Mereka sekuler, jadi agama adalah wilayah privat yang 
nggak ada hubungannya dengan cara berpakaian atau mata pelajaran di 
sekolah. Jadi, mereka nggak akan peduli seperti apa ajaran Islam. 
Islam yang mereka pahami adalah apa yang terlihat. Makanya, kalau 
mau memperbaiki citra Islam, lebih baik perbaiki perilaku umatnya. 
Menyodorkan ayat tidak akan efektif.
