Sri Lankan political parties plan march to protest Saddam execution

Jan 04, Colombo: Thirteen political parties will gather tomorrow afternoon in 
front of the Maradana mosque in Colombo to march to the United States embassy 
to condemn the execution of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein. 

These parties include the major opposition United National Party (UNP), Sri 
Lanka Muslim Congress, Muslim United Liberation Front, People's Liberation 
Front (JVP), New Left Front, United Socialist Party, Sri Lanka Communist Party, 
Lanka Sama Samaja Party, Western People's Front, Upcountry People's Front and a 
few others. 

Sri Lankan Minister D.E.W. Gunasekara and Deputy Ministers Hussain Bhaila and 
P. Radhakrishnan also participated in the press briefing, held yesterday at the 
Asath Sally Centre in Colombo, to announce the protest.
