U.S. House passes resolution supporting elections in Aceh WASHINGTON (AP): The U.S. House of Representatives on Monday passed a resolution praising democratic elections in the Indonesian province of Aceh. The resolution also commended rebels for demobilizing troops and the government for withdrawing military and police forces. Last December, Acehnese voters elected former rebel leader Irwandi Yusuf as the region's new governor.
