President asks law enforcer to solve major corruption
cases
JAKARTA (Antara): President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono
has called on law enforcers to wrap up unresolved
major corruption cases, including the Bank Indonesia
liquidity assistance (BLBI) scandal.
"Some major corruption cases like those involving the
BLBI credits remain unsolved. Big-time corrupters have
become fugitives after they embezzled billions or even
trillions of rupiah," the President said when
inaugurating the office of the Financial Transaction
Analysis and Report Center on Tuesday.
He said these fugitives must be brought to justice.
"Though this is not easy, law enforcers should not
stop making the utmost effort to uphold justice for
the people," the President said.(***)
