Blast hits Iraq Army Day revelry

A bomb blast has killed eight people, including at
least four Iraqi soldiers, during celebrations to mark
the country's Army Day in the eastern Baghdad suburb
of Karrada, police and witnesses said.
The blast occurred on Sunday outside the offices of a
non-governmental organisation that had been hosting
celebrations for high-ranking army officers and
government officials.
An AFP photographer who witnessed the attack said that
the suicide bomber struck a group of soldiers who were
singing and chanting outside the building where the
event was taking place.
"They were dancing when the attacker exploded
himself," he said.
Reuters television footage showed the soldiers
chanting "Where is terrorism today?" moments before
the bomb exploded.
Interior and defence ministry officials said the blast
also wounded at least seven more.
