Former Iraqi Deputy PM Aziz sentenced to death (Xinhua) Former Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Tariq Aziz [File photo] Updated: 2010-10-26 17:02 BAGHDAD - An Iraqi court on Tuesday issued a death sentence to former Deputy Prime Minister Tariq Aziz who served under Saddam Hussein's regime, the state Iraqia television reported. The Supreme Criminal Court of Iraq sentenced to death Aziz, deputy prime minister of the former regime, in the case of liquidation of religious parties, the television said in an urgent report. The court also sentenced to death Saadoun Shaker, former interior minister, and Abdul Hamid al-Tikriti, secretary of Saddam, in the same case, the report added.
