Man who raped and sodomised old maid gets jail and rotan A 23-year-old unemployed man who robbed, raped, and sodomised a 50-year-old Indonesian maid has been jailed for 32 years and ordered to be caned 24 times. Wan Faisal Wan Muhamed, 23, had robbed, sodomised, raped and forced the maid to perform oral sex on him in front of a three-year-old boy under her care. The crime took place between 8am and 9.30pm on March 27 at a house in Kangkar Pulai,Johor. He pleaded guilty to the charges before Sessions Court judge Norazlan Ahmad on Thursday. After the judge left the courtroom, Wan Faisal, who looked shocked, was seen turning to the policeman by his side and asked if the caning would be painful. His mother, siblings and relatives, who were earlier in the public gallery, also crowded around him at the dock. They were heard telling him that he should not have done "such a bad thing" and that he would now have to spend many years behind bars. The statement of the facts said Wan Faisal broke into the house and threatened the maid with a knife, saying that he would kill her and the three-old-oy if she did not cooperate. He ransacked the house and stole items worth more than RM4,000. He then molested and raped the maid in front of the boy who was crying at the time. Wan Faisal later sodomised the woman and forced her to perform oral sex on him before threatening to kill her if she reported the incident. Wan Faisal was sentenced to 20 years' jail and ordered to be given 12 strokes of the cane under Section 376 of the Penal Code for the first charge of rape. He then sentenced Wan Faisal to 10 years' jail and six strokes of the cane for the second charge under Section 377C of the Penal Code for carnal intercourse against the order of nature. Norazlan also sentenced Wan Faisal to 12 years' jail and six strokes of the cane for the third charge of armed robbery under Section 392/397 of the Penal Code. The judge ordered the second and third sentences to run concurrently after the first sentence was served. Deputy Public Prosecutor Anwar Raof prosecuted the case while the accused was not represented.
