Ibu Tega Jual Anak 5 Tahun ke Jaringan Prostitusi Polisi AS tengah mencari seorang anak perempuan berusia lima tahun yang telah dijual oleh ibunya ke jaringan prostitusi. Shaniya Davis tidak diketahui nasibnya dalam enam hari setelah terlihat terakhir kali diajak ke sebuah ruang kamar hotel oleh seorang pria dewasa. Aparat penegak hukum FBI dan US Marshalls bergabung untuk melakukan pencarian secara nasional terhadap balita yang dikhawatirkan telah terjeblos ke jaringan pedofil. Polisi telah menjerat sang ibu, Antoinette Davis, dengan pasal tindak kriminal prostitusi dan perdagangan manusia. Surat penahanan telah dikeluarkan terhadap Antoinette Davis yang akhirnya mengakui telah menyerahkan putrinya itu untuk dijadikan obyek pelampias nafsu seks dari pria hidung belang yang mendambakan hubungan dengan anak di bawah usia. Ibu yang tengah hamil itu semula melaporkan putrinya hilang Selasa pekan lalu. Polisi mulai mencurigai keterangan Antoinette Davis setelah menelusuri kronologi peristiwa yang mengarah ke hilangnya Shaniya Davis dari sebuah taman di Fayetteville, North Carolina. Kemudian polisi berhasil mendapatkan rekaman CCTV dari sebuah hotel yang terletak 40 mil dari Fayetteville. Hasil rekaman CCTV menunjukkan, Shaniya Davis diajak menuju kamar hotel oleh seorang pria bernama Mario McNeill. Sejak saat itu, Shaniya Davis tidak diketahui keberadaannya meskipun pria dewasa yang terlihat bersamanya di CCTV telah menyerahkan diri ke polisi Jumat pekan lalu dengan pengakuan sempat menyekap balita ini. Saat ditanya kemungkinan apakah anak perempuan ini masih hidup, Sersan John Somerindyke dari Kepolisian Fayetteville menjelaskan, "Kami tetap optimistis berharap demikian." Menurut ayahnya, Bradley Lochart, Shaniya Davis telah menetap selama tiga pekan bersama ibunya sebelum dikabarkan hilang. Lochart mengaku mengizinkan putrinya menetap dengan ibunya yang telah berpisah darinya setelah mantan istrinya itu mendapatkan tempat tinggal dan pekerjaan selama enam bulan.
