Nur Tjahjono, 50, was arrested by the police in Pacitan, East Java over Rp 900 million ($105,300) of unpaid debts, Metro TV reported. The arrest was made after five people filed police reports against him, stating that Nur had borrowed their money to finance his campaign when he was running for Pacitan's district head in 2010. Nur lost the election and according to the plaintiffs, he never returned the money. In an open letter to Yudhoyono, that was also sent to the media, Nur poured his heart out. “I don't understand why they always bring the family's name. Everyone speaks on behalf of Cikeas [Yudhoyono's family home]. Blessing and permission from Cikeas are always mentioned to arrest me,” he wrote. “Everyone said the case had to go on because that was the instruction from the family,” he wrote. Meanwhile, Pacitan's Police Chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Gatot Haribowo said he did not want the media to "blow up" the case because it can make the public "feel restless."
