Apa yg akan terjadi bila disetujui oleh parlemen, mampu kah Amerika minimal mengurangi pengangguran ?, produk korea termasuk produk konsumtif dan masih tetap murah meriah, dibandingan dengan produk sejenis buatan Amerika, demikian pula dengan hasil pertanian dan perkebunan dengan Kolumbia dan Panama, apakah petani Amerika sanggup bersaing biarpun perjanjian di ''revisi''
Sepertinya Amerika masih membutuhkan waktu utk mempelajari cara mengatasi produk² dari RRC, dengan memakai contoh 3 negara diatas minimal bisa dijadikan alat uji coba, sebelum melakukan hal yg sama, saat ini utk RRC tetap kumekeh dengan nilai remingbi yg terlalu lemah. If these agreements are passed it will mean more economic hardship for our country at a time that it already has enough. Previous trade agreements have done considerable damage to our economy. NAFTA is perhaps the most notable example. Since NAFTA went into effect in 1994 it has been nothing but a siphon for American jobs. NAFTA turned a trade surplus with Mexico into a $91 billion deficit in 14 years. Over 300,000 family farms have gone under since the agreement went into effect, the average wage of American workers has dropped 13 percent, and over 700,000 jobs have been displaced. This is no fluke occurrence; it is the logical conclusion of opening our borders to cheap foreign competition. There is no reason to believe the trade pacts that Congress is voting on will have any positive effects for the U.S. economy. Government and independent studies alike have shown that these pacts will have a negative impact on jobs in the United States, with the Economic Policy Institute estimating that the agreement with South Korea will cost 159,000 jobs over the first seven years. Based on NAFTA it wouldn't be unreasonable to guess that the number of jobs lost will continue to increase with time. The agreements with Colombia and Panama will add tens of thousands more lost jobs to an already ailing economy, along with putting Americans in direct competition with oppressed workers. If our politicians were really interested in creating jobs they would not be considering the passage of trade agreements that will dig us further into a jobs deficit. We need to learn from our past mistakes and avoid sending our country down a path of economic devastation. President Obama recognized the folly of these agreements when he was running for office, but he has since bowed to the corporate interests that fund Democratic campaigns.
