I'm very pleased to announce that version 2.54.0 is now released.

Release 2.54 brings a release candidate of a major new version of Remote
Write: 2.0 <https://prometheus.io/docs/specs/remote_write_spec_2_0/>.
Remote-write v2 is experimental at this time and may still change.
It is enabled by default, but can be disabled via feature-flag
web.remote-write-receiver.accepted-protobuf-messages.

2.54 also adds optional new operators limitk()
and limit_ratio(), underscores in literal numbers (e.g. 1_000_000 for 1
million), enhancements to Service Discovery for AWS, Docker and OpenStack,
plus several performance improvements and bug-fixes.

Changelog and binaries are available at
https://github.com/prometheus/prometheus/releases/tag/v2.54.0

As usual, container images are available at
https://quay.io/repository/prometheus/prometheus?tab=tags and
https://hub.docker.com/r/prom/prometheus/tags

This time there is also an experimental alternative image intended to
reduce memory usage by deduplicating label strings, trading off increased
CPU usage by about 10%.
This image is available via docker pull
prom/prometheus:v2.54.0-dedupelabels.

Regards,
Bryan Boreham (@bboreham)
