The generator does not "create its own set of MIB files" - it only reads in MIB files. You can set the environment variable MIBDIRS <https://github.com/prometheus/snmp_exporter/tree/master/generator> to tell it what directories you want it to look in: https://github.com/prometheus/snmp_exporter/issues/395
If you don't set this environment variable, it may pick up existing MIBs from a system-defined location (wherever your net-snmp looks by default).
