I would say it's best to go to #thanos Slack (CNCF Slack workspace) <https://thanos.io/community.md> with those questions. We have more than 1k users there willing to answer some of those!
TL;DR 1. Why you need that? Why not putting Alertmanager to the central location instead? Alertmanager is to route to page notifications systems like OpsGenie, PagerDuty, Slack Jira, etc, why would you need to federate the page itself? In theory, it's doable, but you need to carefully check what exactly you want to solve first. 2. Ruler not (unless a hook server Alertmanager API). But Alertmanager yes, so just hook 3rd party webhooks there, and target that AM from the ruler. 3. Sidecar does not send data to queries. It's rather Querier pulling data from sidecars. And yes, Querier is stateless so you can have as many as you want of these.
