What exactly have you tried? You're probably better off not setting the target label in the first place. You only need __param_target for blackbox exporter; labels which start with underscores are stripped from the final label set.
You do need to be very careful that the overall label set is still unique. Your "instance" label seems already to carry the target, in which case not setting the "target" label should be fine.
