Can someone has a better idea if AppDynamics can provide better monitoring metrics than Prometheus for an application which is developed in Spring boot App. Can Prometheus has advantage over AppD related to a Spring boot metrics. Hi We use AppD and Prometheus. The purposes are different.AppD costs a lot ($$), but is good for monitoring (including performance analysis) for Java based applications. Developers usually love AppD, it is their world.
However, for infrastructure monitoring (e.g. Linux VMs, K8s) and generic Open Source stacks, Prometheus is much better. As soon as we talk about standard Open Source software, Prometheus is much better suited. It usually does not require any developer knowledge to set up monitoring.
