I was thinking it would be neat to be able to open a BOM that was real time
connected to the schematic and be able to change things on the fly and have
them be updated in the schematic editor. Sort of a spreadsheet editor for
the schematic database details. 

Does it work that way?

Might be of some use, its excel based so you could tweak it to suit yourself
and I am sure that Dave
would be interested in any feedback (if the Zarlink hatchet men have not
