Fabian, many models that are called 'Spice' are in fact PSpice models, just because the former Microsim PSpice was (is) the most popular simulation tool. PSpice uses some language extensions that are not compatible with generic Spice simulators (eg. the VALUE statement). Protel uses the XSpice engine which is an 'enhanced and extended version of Spice3'. But its backward compatible to Spice, so you can use every 'real' Spice model.
