I've tried Mentor's schematic and IC layout tools. They are REALLY complicated and difficult to learn. What it really is is some IBM 360 software that originally was run in batch mode from punch card decks. They have put an interactive layer on top of it, and then a menu-driven layer on top of that. The menus can't get you to all the functions, so you have to know how to use the keyboard shortcut commands as well. If you don't use it for 2 days, you're hopelessly lost again. It usually takes me about 2 hours just to get a schematic or IC macro to display!
