Dennis:

IF Emanuel's solution of:

- Export Protel Schematic as PCAD ASCI
- Import it in PCAD (I did it with PCAD2000 Demo)
- Export it in PCAD to PDIF format
- Import PDIF to OrCad

...does not work, you should note that you are not limited
to the few Orcad libraries listed in the SDT.CFG file. Any
Orcad *.olb file can be saved in SDT format and also
imported into Protel just by changing *.olb to *.dsn. This
doesn't help if you have extensive custom libraries that
you must use but it does eliminate the problem of common
libraries if you start with Orcad libraries.

There are a few other constraints you should be aware of
when using the SDT format for converting files. Most of these
are listed in Orcad help under SDT such as numeric pin
designators limited to 255 and PCB directives not supported.

Good luck,

Brock
