yes they do need to improve the help

but the .dot stuff does work nicely
we have a couple of .dots in a ddb
there is a way, sorry can't remember but not hard, to make one a default
for schems
when you go to assign a different .dot it seems to remember which ddb
and politely opens it up for you

i think that happens only if you have assigned a default and it is in
the given ddb
