When you make them, give them a unique size - like 40.01 thou. Then you can
easily
globally edit them if required using the size mask.

To place them work out your spacing and set your snap grid to this, or maybe 1/2
snap
grid. You could also create arrays which may be a quicker  way to do it.

Does anybody know of an easy way to "sprinkle" vias on a board? I want to
place several (100+) vias on a board to get a good top-bottom current flow
for GND.
