Hi All, Anybody care to comment on the following proposal...
Item: Addition of menu/mouse button behaviour to Layer tabs on PCB module Background: The use of the layer dialog amounts to an enormous no. of repetitions over the average days work. Workarounds include the ad hoc use of buttons on the toolbar to make the operation more efficient. The following attempts to make use of the current standard layer display. Technique: 1. Add layer Tabs to the PCB window according to the settings in the current Layer Dialog as is currently done 2. Allow used layers to be made 'not visible' while still being on the Tab strip ( Greyed maybe... ) 3. Double click on a layer tab to toggle it's visibility state 4. Right click on the tab to show a menu containing visibility state AND selection state thus allowing the layer to be removed from the tab bar & latter redisplayed with the Layer Dialog. Alternatively use the Stack manager to determine what is on the tab bar. Good for people like me who mainly work in 2 - 8 layer. Lousy for guys doing 32 layer monsters. Acknowledgements: The Tab menu system is used to great effect by Neville Franks in his Programmer's Editor ED for Windows. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * To post a message: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] * * To leave this list visit: * http://www.techservinc.com/protelusers/leave.html * * Contact the list manager: * mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] * * Forum Guidelines Rules: * http://www.techservinc.com/protelusers/forumrules.html * * Browse or Search previous postings: * http://www.mail-archive.com/proteledaforum@techservinc.com * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
