Right, so the problem is that comparison of two messages is not implemented. We are not likely to implement this, as it presents a number of complicated obstacles, and is rarely needed in practice. You should instead pass a custom comparison function to sorted() which implements an ordering appropriate for your message type. In many cases what you really want to do is sort based on one field of the message (like a name or key), and there is no way for protocol buffers to know which field that is.
