There's a binary download available only for Windows, other platforms have
to get the source and configure/make; and it's a single make for C++ / Java
/ Python, you need to make everything even if you only need the Java or
Python support. Building the C++ support needs the cmdline Xcode tools,
which many devs who only use Java or Python on OSX may not have installed
so it's a little annoying.
