Comment #5 on issue 286 by [email protected]: Inconsistency with repeated fields using C++ protobufs
http://code.google.com/p/protobuf/issues/detail?id=286

Internally we have replaced the python c++ implementation with a new one and the refcounting problem has been addressed in the new design. The code hasn't been merged into the opensource repository though. It's likely to be available in the next major release (2.6). As to the current python c++ implementation, we don't plan to do any fix for it as it's supposed to be deleted in the future.
