What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. ./congfigure CC=xlC
2. make

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The process of making stops. I think there is something wrong with protoc
which was built during the process.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
AIX 6.1
xlC 8.0
Please provide any additional information below.
