You may want to have a look at 

https://github.com/sroycode/zqrpc

I tried to work with rpcz (you can see my efforts at 
https://github.com/sroycode/rpcz)  ... but it gives errors on mutex locking 
especially when used with other libraries. 

My main requirement was  for sending multiple requests and getting replies 
in parallel ...
