Hmm, so the ./generate_descriptor_proto.sh assumes the use of autotools.

You will need to tweak the script for it to work with cmake. A simple hack
might suffice:
  1. remove the "make $@ protoc" line
  2. copy the protoc binary built by cmake to src/
after this ./generate_descriptor_proto.sh should run fine.
