The recv() method tells messenger how many messages it is allowed to receive.
Functionally, calling recv() makes credit available to messenger. Without
calling recv(), no credit will be made available in order to receive messages
from the sender.
I agree the documentation is lacking in explaining this.
Not sure the difference in behavior between 0.6 and 0.7 - what is 'work'
returning in these cases?
