Markus Horstmann commented on PROTON-558:
-----------------------------------------

This is a significant improvement. Thanks, Andrew!
An option to turn this feature off entirely would still be helpful, assuming it
saves more than just a few bytes of RAM. In an ongoing customer engagement, we
are attempting to fit all AMQP usage (including SSL) into a 20k RAM budget.

> Make friendly protocol field logging optional for low-memory devices

> Embedded devices tend to be memory constrained (i.e. 128KB RAM). The FIELDS
> structure used for protocol logging consumes significant memory. Making it
> optional would help reduce the memory footprint.
