Hello there,

I've been working on fixing String#replace with a function replacement
in an ECMAScript 262-3.1 compliant way.
Unfortunately, MultiSafari is not working on my setup anymore so I
cannot test it against Safari < 2.0.4 which seems to be the only buggy
browser regarding this issue.
As this fix allows to use String#replace internally instead of
String#gsub (notably in Template), this could lead to really better
performance.

Please take a look at my last comment on #534 [1], and at my Prototype
fork commit which aims to use String#replace internally [2].

Best,
Samuel.
