Hi TJ. Thanks for the response. I knew I needed to post more details as soon as I clicked "send" but had to wait until the message showed up since I'm a noob 'round these parts. I'm seeing the error on Firefox 3 with Firebug, yes. On Safari, IE, and Chrome the out of memory error is not reported, but the results are pretty much the same. If I eliminate the commented out code on those browsers, then it works, if I don't they just act as if nothing has happened at all.
