Hi everyone,

We have some good news on the rocket launch front. It turns out that
Oregon Rocketry has a FAA waiver filed at Brothers, Oregon for *every*
weekend from now until March 2009.

To use their waiver, we need to:

1. Get permission from the land owner.
2. Get permission to use the waiver from Oregon Rocketry.
3. Activate the waiver (by a phone call).

We've done all three of these in the past, so with a little bit of
paperwork and agreement on all sides, we can launch just about any
weekend this winter.

The key word there is "winter": what's going to be really difficult is
to coordinate with the weather so that we don't freeze to death, get
stuck in the snow, or have to scrub a launch because of low altitude clouds.

Given all this, our big priority should be to get the airframe, recovery
system, and ground systems done and tested and ready for flight. Then we
can start playing chicken with the weather, and launch when the stars --
or, maybe in this case, clouds -- align.
