SPSS has some information on its website that basically says everything is based on the current locale. If you go to the spss.com support page (and log in as guest/guest), read through their support resolutions 19634, 41558, and 26185. Especially the first of those. We should implement SET LOCALE and SHOW LOCALE, which I never noticed in the manuals before.
