In this case, are we mainly considering editors? Cursory Wikipedia surfing [1] indicates that the MS editors typically found on Windows, only NotePad does not support non-Windows line endings. The feature scale goes, ascending: Notepad, WordPad, MS Works, MS Word. Both Notepad and WordPad are the free editors that come with the system, but if Windows users aren't aware of WordPad then it effectively doesn't exist. Is it possible to associate the data files to open with WordPad? [1] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WordPad > Well, that's the question. I know PSPP itself can read both types of newlines, but could you see changing the default behavior impacting people in other ways? Are users more likely to email their data files versus using source control? _______________________________________________ pspp-dev mailing list pspp-dev@gnu.org https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/pspp-dev
