I agree. My intention was never to psppire pretend to be what he was not, but 
simply that the icon theme was consistent.

As a user I would like to see a version of "psppire" in GTK+ 3, but there 
remains a great desktop environment that uses GTK+ 2 (XFCE) and have not seen 
software GTK+ 3 in windows. (I do not know the technical details)

I don't think however it is a worthwhile exercise to make psppire pretend that 
it is 
using Gtk3 when it is not.  Instead we should try to get the Gtk+3 branch 
releaseable.
