I have a quick question. I am unsure which release of PSPP I should use with MS Windows. There are binaries listed at: http://pspp.awardspace.com with a disclaimer that "These are development versions, built from daily snapshots." I am comfortable using development versions, I just want to know if there is a "latest stable release" that I should be using with Windows *instead* of the builds listed on http://pspp.awardspace.com (and if so, where to find them).
As far as I know there are no other packages build the last years. So there is not much to choice. The latest stable release is 0.6.2. which is far behind the functionality of the current builds.
It is indeed these are development versions and the newest features are not very much tested before publishing. But as they are quite often build and downloaded about 250 times a day only from my site, there are mirrors, I think you can safely use them too for non critical use. For critical use I would use 1 or 2 versions back. If something is wrong you can always remove the installed package and install an older one. There is nothing in the code blocking this.
BTW the newest versions are published on http://sourceforge.net/projects/pspp4windows/files shortly before on http://pspp.awardspace.com Maybe I will even make a new build tonight which includes the possibility to start a syntax file by a mouse click.
