I agree with all that IPSec is porbably the best for VPN.  But for the
record, port forwarding is not required for VPN over ssh (or lsh).  The
strategy put forth in the VPN-HOWTO is to run ppp over an ssh link.

I am not a developer (also the fact that I am in the US would taint the
project anyway) but linking ppp in with lsh would be cool.  ;)
