Hi; I can't get my one Win98 computer to connect to my one RH8 computer without sending the passwords as clear text. This is a Win98 SE with IE SP2. Using the default smb.conf file I couldn't get anything to happen. I'm just doing the homes share thing. My little LAN is the two aforementioned PCs connected through a Linksys 4 port router. I have firewalling on the RH8 machine turned off.
Then, after running Lisa, when I try to connect from RH8 to the Win98 share I have set up for drive C, I can get right in through Nautilus in gnome, I can see all the files, move copy delete, etc. KDE is a different story, I can browse the network, and I can get as far as seeing the C drive share, but when I click on it, nothing. The Konq spinner spins, and that's it. I would like to send my passwords encrypted, and I would like to use Konq to get to the files on the Win98 machine. Any ideas? Do I have a bug or am I an idiot? -P
