Hummingbird's eXceed connecting to Linux RH 8

I have a system that I just set up with 2.4.18-19.8.0 RH. I have an older system with 2.4.18.18.8.0.

I want to connect to both computers through Hummingbird's eXceed using /usr/X11R6/bin/xterm. The connection to the older system works. When I try the connection to the newer system I get the message

Unable to connect to host using specified start method.

The computers have the same ports open with the exception of port 32770 which is open on the older computer.

.xhost files are used on neither RH computer. I believe I have nearly the same packages installed on both RH computers. The output from "iptables --list" is the same.

Any ideas as to the problems.
