I have to apologize for the lack  of time to do it for you right now,
but every issue i ever found with kernel modules, I always paid
attention to the docs included in the kernel-sources, concerning the
related module.
I found always there solutions to many "dinosaur-nics" and some SCSI or
USB devices with which i faced some troubles at boot time.
