I am not certain if server is that much different from the standard desktop 
build that you couldn't just add apps to it.  If it is a problem then getting a 
$29 copy of the usual desktop Mac OS could fix the problem.  If server is more 
streamlined and still has coreaudio then maybe it would be better anyway.

Well they used to make a drive that would fit perfectly on top of the mini.  
They just changed the form factor so the dvd drive would be a slight bit 
narrower and a slight bit less deep then the mini.  The new minis just got 
flatter and a little bit bigger front to back and side to side.

The other thing that was a disappointment to me in the new min was no usb3.  
You would think that Apple of all people would be pushing the next gen stuff.  
They usually are the first people to the party with new connectivity standards.
