Hey Mike,

The idea of having more than 16 inputs available for input on host-based Pro
Tools systems is generally a new development for users. Most people are using
interfaces that have 8 or sixteen inputs and perhaps between 2 and 8 outputs.
HD systems had the option of many more I/O channels but at a much higher price.

These days, I'd imagine that the Digi 003 is probably one of the best bets for
16 inputs and 8 outputs plus the built-in control surface. For more I/O, the
Lynx Studio interfaces are pretty much unbeatable for price versus performance
but you'll still need a control surface. Digi 003 goes for around $2,000 while
the Lynx Aurora goes for around $2,200 for 16 I/O.

HTH,

Slau
