Hi Abdul,

There are 4 modes of operation for editing. The two main modes you'll use 99%
of the time are Shuffle and slip. The mode you're in right now is Slip. I don't
know why it's called that exactly but, that's the name for the behavior.

Shuffle mode is the mode you want. This is where audio moves up to occupy the
spot where something was cut.

The f1 key will get you into Shuffle mode and f2 will get you into Slip mode.
be aware that, if you're on a laptop, of course, you need to make sure your
function key options are set correctly in the Keyboard Preferences pane of
System Preferences. That said, there's an alternate keyboard shortcut for
getting into the 4 editing modes. I can't remember them but I think it's
something like Control-1, Control-2, etc. on the numbers row but don't quote me.

BTW, once you press f1 to get into Shuffle mode, it'll stay in that mode until
you change it.

HTH,

Slau
