Hello folks, I just want to introduce myself real quick to the list. My name is Nate Kile, but I go by Poppa bear on most of the lists I am on. I am a Sonar user and have a small commercial project recording studio. I have been really interested in taking the step into the Mac world and PT. The person I have a studio with uses a Mac set up in his control room and I have learned quite a bit, good and bad.
I think I need to get in sooner than later and be part of the PT community not only for me, but also for future blind engineers and producers. I think that as many have said, PT is the industry standard at this point and as with them, I also believe it is important to be able to be competitive in the eyes of the professional recording community in order to be a viable canadate to gain work in recording houses as well as when running and operating personally owned project studios. I do applaud the hard work that so many have done over the last decade to really help bring the changes we have at this point to make PT even an option. Right now I know I have a lot to learn and I believe that this will be a key place in learning much of what I will need to become a PT user. So that's my two pennies, I am glad to meet everyone that I don't already know from other lists.
