Navigation, audio and midi editing

Hello everyone,
I'm currently on a protools 10 30 day trial and have a few basic
questions reguarding navigation and audio/midi editing.
I've read here that the numpad can be used to navigate through a
project. How exactly can this be done? Also, how would I go about
selecting a clip to copy, or quantize etc... Any help would be much
appreciated. Thanks.
